Project 1 - Library Block and resource centre
The library block consists of Meeting Hall, Reception, Library with reading spaces, Open air theaters, Guestrooms, TV room and Public Restrooms.
The very intent of the design was to create public spaces that are more connected with people along with its function, and making it an active part of their daily livesThe contour is solved in levels giving access to the building from two heights, which also helps in forming an Amphitheater space between the 2 blocks.
Project 2 - Disaster cum Community Shelter, Health center and krishi bhavan
The Community spaces or social spaces for the dwellings are considered to be tangible in its form. The users can use these spaces for various activities than giving it a particular function. Plot B was assigned for the community hall, School and health center. And, the thought process for these spaces was to keep it flexible to serve for different events throughout the year. So, we have taken a pragmatic approach to the whole concept.
The kindergarten is acting as separate unit using the its interiors for indoor play area while the community hall can hold other activities.Both hall and anganavadi can be used together for a public activity using the connecting courtyard. The community hall and the anganavadi can also be connected to act as a disaster shelter, in times of emergency.
